What is your step by step process for writing a book? by Kyle Phoenix

I was a TA in Buffalo and worked for Raymond Federman, the great experimental writer. Somewhere in the years working for him, I absorbed his credo of 12 Drafts of a manuscript before it’s ready for publication.

Draft 1 is a mess. Usually handwritten. I hand write about 80% of my work. This is just the basics. Who, what, where. How, why and when happen in Draft 2.

Draft 2 is How, why and when it happened—-this can also be handwritten. Even a continuation of Draft 1. These two drafts are me trying to capture the lightning thoughts about what this project could be.

Draft 3 is the look of the Digital template. The text, the Font size, the header, the footer, the book itself. Everyone is different in that some books scream from Day one that they probably won’t go over 300 typed pages. Some say they will. So this is where I interject the Business, Design and Marketing of the book. Will the paper be plain white? Ivory stock? Cream colored?

Draft 4 is usually where I start typing, where it makes it to the digital. It’s still a mess. This is just the hard typing of what I have written down. It’s most of the story, maybe 75–90%.

Draft 5—-I’m playing with the cover itself. Sometimes this happens all through Drafts 1–4 where I’m just throwing something together in PowerPoint, Photoshop, searching on an image or two. Sometimes there will be both a Paperback and EBook edition so I have to consider if the same cover will work with production considerations and restrictions or do I have a little wiggle room for a fresh image that was maybe choice # 2.

Draft 6 is generally where I send off for the first edit. It’s rough because I’m going to wait before I tackle what comes back. This will probably lose about 25% of it’s content or get rearranged in the edit/reading.

Draft 7—blends with Draft 6 in that I’m holding a copy, a rough proof copy and I’m trying to “hear” it as a thing that stands on it’s own. As it;s own entity. Sometimes I’ll read something and it will just creak rather than scream. Or I’ll be reading something and it will be impenetrable and I’ll realize the characters aren’t telling me the truth. I have to go sit down, go wait, maybe even go talk to them. One character in a novel, Puzzle, she didn’t tell me she had a second daughter. When she did, when she was unveiled, I understood why she was hidden and why the first one was crazy, what had driven the first one crazy. Then I understood the mother better. But they didn’t all talk to me clearly at first.

Draft 8 is where the characters trust me enough and we all sit down with a pen to that proof copy and go line by line, scene by scene, page by page and agree or disagree as to what is happening, what really happened, what should happen. The characters take a form of spiritual ownership and presence complete in this draft.

Draft 9 is an amalgamation of all of us, me, the characters, the editorial process and it usually is too much, doesn’t make sense, is a cacophony. But everyone’s thoughts are here, everyone has said their bit. Now we have to decide what “works” to tell the story. Usually this falls into whether a scene is relevant and moves the story. Each page must move you to the next. I’m usually reading my own work and others with an eye towards the first 50 pages, will those first pages captivate me as a reader, you as a reader because even if the end, the back end is sensational, those first 50 have to draw you in.

Draft 10 is looking at the balance, the pieces, the climaxes, the denouement , has the point been made, the question answered, the story told, the truth revealed, the lie maintained. Whatever the Purpose, the Destiny of the work is itself, I have to have it by now. Not always do I have it in the beginning but I must feel it, see it, know it now or it’s just pages and folks yakking and walking around.

Draft 11 is the first day of school for my baby. And I drive them to the outside of town and leave them and tell them, I’ve driven you a thousand times up and down this road. Now you must walk this road by yourself, to earn your premiere. That means that I’m just going to read you as a book, I might even wait some time to not have you so fresh in my mind but when I read you—-Final Proof, Final Cover, you must be a book.

Draft 12 has passed that process or we’ve had to go back and forth in editing to get that walking process right, where it reads as a book. Where I’ve sewn up as many flaws as possible. Where I can encapsulate the book in one sentence—-usually I can’t do so until about Draft 9—-which is why I hate this question because I don’t know what the book is about yet. It[‘s about a pound and half, about 400 pages, about wrapped in the color red, about people, folk, doing shit, it’s about the size of a brick, it’s about nothing, it’s about the heaviest densest coaster I own.

Draft 12 is the answer to that question.

That’s what Federman taught me.

Is it possible for a Chinese to be a talk show host (like The Oprah Show) in America? by #KylePhoenix

Yes, there is a younger clone with a near identical set.

The advantage of partnering with Discovery Channel creates is that it's worldwide, that it's 7 channels---that gives a range of billions if viewers around the world subscribe/tune in. Right now they get paid 30 cents per 8 channels, of about 90-100 worldwide subscribers.

Now at the peak, Oprah was rocking 12 to 15 (upwards of 40+ when averaged by the week) million viewers a day, to multiply that success over multiple shows/formats is going to take time. She's now arguably getting close to I’m sure one of her considered goals: she had on her show a young Chinese talks how host, Chen Lu Yu, pre 2009 Discovery Channel deal approach.

Yu's single show has a viewership of 200 million a week in China, while Oprah was doing 40 million a week including America and international markets.

I literally saw Oprah, Skyping with Yu, get an ambition erection. It is no coincidence that OWN in her and Stedman's minds since 1992, got a boost at seeing this young woman. Gary Zaslav, President of Discovery approached her a couple of years later. Synchronization. Serendipity. Law of Attraction.

Oprah's CEO of OWN until 2025, to really, really, really expand. There are broadcasts of OWN throughout Europe, Canada, South America, India already.

Yu woke up a Mississippi dragon.

Chen?

You in danger, girl.

Does fucking a man in the ass feel as good as pussy? by Kyle Phoenix

Ehh…..it’s different because a vagina and anus/rectum are different, I can say, having done both.

A male anus/sphincter/rectum—-3 stages/places feel like a bottle’s initial neck, length of the neck and then the expanse of the bottle itself——entrance-less tight (exterior), length-interior (tighter) and then inside to the rectum (open bottle) expansiveness. Depending upon the girth of a penis one may or may not feel the lining walls of the rectum but this is dangerous (which is why lube is necessary for going in and for defecation/feces, coming out). The body naturally creates mucous as lubricant but not enough for penetration from the exterior by a penis or object/dildo because that little bit of lubricating mucous is used up, burnt out, by the friction of the in and out of penetration.

A vagina feels like a wet pastry that has muscles on the outside or in grasping. A vagina also naturally lubricates but with age may require artificial lubrication. It also contracts and expands so when a penis or object enters, the vagina expands—-in a sense grasping the penis and with more and more activity—-produces more and more lubricant and relaxes/expands. A rectum does not do this, which is why lubrication is necessary for both men and women in rectums.

An anus has multiple dimensions to it. One, there’s the exterior and interior sphincter muscles——so when you penetrate a man the head inside of a condom (or not) is first like a piercing into something that is closed. So first there’s first the piercing—the difference in a vagina is that while there are muscles inside of the lining of a vagina they aren’t as the barrier that sphincter muscles act as. So men relax the exterior muscles for the piercing/penetrating consciously and then there’s an involuntary and relaxing of the interior which allows the penis/object to then move into the rectum itself—-which is only 5 to 6 inches in depth.

But (total pun here!) in a rectum of a man, you can’t feel always the “walls” of the rectum because in the piercing, twice, then your penile shaft is being grasped by the muscles of the sphincter so the sensation to a man penetrating another——is that gripping on the head/corona and shaft. Now depending upon technique is where the initial musculature grasping is. Note the labium for women isn’t as thick in muscle structure and strength to women as to men.

To a vagina, there’s less muscle resistance upon penetrating. A vagina is tighter based upon age, and yes, it re-contracts after child birthing, but as a woman ages she has to exercise (Kegels) and a man can do Kegels of the PC muscle to strengthen and control his sphincter muscles to contract, open and even massage a penis as it enters.

If you look at the diagrams above you'll see that the male prostate is behind a thin membrane about 1–2 inches from the sphincter muscles. That’s where the pleasure for a man is centrally located, though Bottoms also enjoy the feel of being filled by a man/penis and more abstractly I would say it is hormones testosterone and estrogen, in both men and women, that are trying to merge, meet, satisfy, in both men and women. Men too are trying to get a testosterone fix in the penetration from another man hormonally to the estrogen “desire” to receive testosterone—-regardless of biological and physically expressed sex.

You see from the diagram that the vagina is almost as long/deep as a rectum until one reaches the cervix. The point to point that out and to note it about men is the demand for HUGE cocks. Past labia and sphincter muscles—-1 to 2 inches, to the male prostate for prostate stimulation in act, exercises and physical movements—-as I illustrate in my book—-Pleasuring Tops,. Bottoms and Versatiles and Multiple Orgasm Training for Men—-and then for women into and up—-deeper to the vagina—-along the walls and the exterior clitoris is where stimulation comes from (think of the clitoris as an inverted penis head/external prostate. Which is why on some penis extenders and vibrators you see a nub, a rise at the base so that along with being inserted the nub will rub the clitoris.

Yeah, it gets deep…..
