What is wrong with our society today? Kyle Phoenix Answers

Kyle Phoenix
Kyle Phoenix, Writer and student & Instructor at Columbia University
Consciousness.
I read thru the answers below and realized how much of it was an unfettered expansiveness of consciousness. Social media/internet is our first foray as a mass into telepathy. What we see on here is just, everyone's thoughts. We have no context for such an unveiling. Suddenly good, bad, trivial, desires, selfish, foolish is permanently exposed. Those who post nudes, willingly or not, are examples of the invention of indestructible memories. We've never been able to not forget. Mass opinions are now tied to the ability to hold in your hand an access device to the telepathic sphere. (I live in NYC. From poor to middle class hands are rarely free, eyes up. I often wonder what the more destitute or out of shape or homeless or day laborers are ceaselessly scrolling through.)
Interestingly I've also noted a mass counterpoint from spiritual corners and the elite: Meditation. Self mind control extolled as a virtue, a must.
This is humanity's first step into opening up our inner psychic realm, expanding our mental capacity to include a uni-sphere of information. We're seeing the jumble of emotion we all are in a naked, permanent psychic way. Every thought/image can be saved, replayed. Fear is now of exposure to the uni-sphere.
Now interestingly this mind accessing tech has arrived before we solved television, a constructed medium of psychic inception. Hence the jumble, the massive overwhelm people struggle with. I don't watch TV, I have Hulu and Netflix but recently I've seen TV in passing, it is an unfiltered cacophony. I'm amazed that you allow it at yourself, your children. Two notes on that comment, I have a TV show, educational, informational for the past 8 years and Hulu and Netflix are yes, similar to TV but the provide conscious (ness) control to access or not. I must say yes to Fear the Walling Dead or Strike A Pose (an excellent opportunity to see celebrity's effect on those in it's wake) but I get to control it. I'm 40 minutes into Inside Job because it's heady, thick, dense so I have paused that thought for a few days now, I watched an X-men cartoon episode, Chopped, Bullshit with Penn & Teller and one thing I found was how loud some shows are, remember this just through my laptop speakers and the image re-projected thru a forty inch flat screen. But what I'm doing is consciously not passively giving it entrance to me and then I can further disassemble the content with critical thinking.
Honestly I see a lot of hegemonic control and management thought's pushed in the content itself. Some intentional but interestingly most repetitious not because there's a lack of creativity but because the masses demand oatmeal and don't trust anything else. Hence Law & Order ad infinitum, but still a control system. Count the police shows, the medical dramas, the shows where the unique or creative are hunted by government like agencies. Shirley McClain once said the problem with Hollywood is that it is America's subconscious.
That's what you're feeling.
First TV/info/internet unfettered at your mind. But you maintain the jack in, you're convinced that you must be connected to the very thing which overwhelms the mind. This is the drug.
Second the content is wide, messy and you're not editing based on not it's criteria but a more objective one. This is the syringe.
Trump mainlined is a lot.
Standing back and occasionally seeing a tv bit, reading some things, I see it's not the end of the world, it's just a multitude of high potency inception and overwhelming potency through indestructible crystallized thought form. But we are without cogent psychic defense experience we let icebergs of thoughts and images take root in our minds.
A guy wrote on here that he'd made 3000 answers in 90 days. I was shocked by the commitment and possible reward and no suggestions he disconnect for a while. On the positive psychic hand, he's divesting his knowledge onto the psychic plane; on the negative, he's intensely present, exposed on the psychic plane. Just because he's peeing doesn't mean he's not being peed upon more.
Solutions?
I think by the time I'm an old man the foray into mind studies, psychic research will be hot topics as we now play with quantum mechanics, virtual reality, reality tv, neuroscience/mental illness and over exposure. We must not necessarily disengage to the point of some of my coworkers who are not computer/tech savvy, for they are like mentally handicapped people for their inability to express and access the uni-sphere. And the system uses them as chum----look at service jobs, occupied not by thinkers but in fact more and more non-thinkers, folk who cant manage the organic and cyber/uni-sphere. Look at how many questions on here are about coding, money and human interaction. As mass of people are now learning how to be, succeed and engage the humans IN the uni-sphere.
We must learn our limitations on a psychic level individually, much like we know our drinking alcohol tolerance levels. I notice the now constant need for both attention and insularity. We're going to have to find our personal center and then group psychic center and only allow the centered at the table of mass world, resources, people control. The most experienced in the uni-sphere will be the most disconnected from humanity.
Ironically US Presidents keep being "less" connected to the uni-sphere people...no blackberries, no email, no computer Obama, Bush, Trump. That psyche insulation does something I'm sure.
When we acknowledge this and start to marshal the restrictions and control points of content control we'll take the next leap forward, probably in the 2080s.

Kyle Phoenix Answers: As a business person, how often do you use the internet?

My business is almost entirely online, digital but as an oddity, I like writing things down, notes, plans, projects, I write books longhand 80% of the time. So I use the internet to check accounts, numbers, web pages daily but I take breaks of about two days a week to think, plan, sketch out ideas. I could do less.
I read about 5 books a week. Business, motivational, money, finance, art, marketing, branding, writing and maybe the equivalent of 2 books a week online in articles. I use Wikipedia a lot to jump off to other sites for info. I've bought about 50 eBooks on Amazon that I read on laptop.

Kyle Phoenix Presents: PRINCE FILES $22 MILLION LAWSUIT AGAINST FACEBOOK & BLOGGER USERS on The Kyle Phoenix Blog

There is so much that can be said about this Prince lawsuit and we could literally talk about it all day. On the one hand, everyone knows how much Prince hates when people post his videos or songs without paying him or whatever he wants for it at the time. On the other hand, he’s been out for so long that the only way some people are even familiar with him is because of the internet and the uploads.

But we’ll get back to that.

Prince is suing 22 members of Facebook and Googele’s Blogger for copyright violations and wants to see each of them pay $1 million. Here’s the scoop from Spin.com:

“According to the 21-page complaint filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco (via Antiquiet), the defendants “engage in massive infringement and bootlegging of Prince’s material.” The lawsuit targets Dan Chodera, Karina Jindrova, and 20 anonymous defendants. Chodera and Jindrova allegedly operated a no-longer-online Facebook account that posted a bunch of bootleg Prince videos. The other defendants — “Does” 1 through 20 — are accused of similar infractions, such as pointing to a 1983 Chicago set from WorldofBootleg.blogspot.com. Hey, we’d like to hear that one.

Prince asks for a jury trial, which, though highly unlikely, would have to make for some fascinating courtroom drama. In addition to the $22 million total in damages, Prince wants the defendants permanently blocked from infringing on his copyrights. He also wants them to forfeit any money they may have made from his music — with interest — and to return any “unlawful materials” to their rightful Purple custody.”

Prince is not a stupid man and surely he knows that the chances of any of these people having $1 million to fork over is slim to none, so we’re thinking this is more of a symbolic lawsuit more than anything. He really does not want anyone posting anything having to do with his music that he cannot control…or at least get paid for in the process.

There’s got to be a better fix for this situation. Prince and his team are probably prepared to sue everyone they can find illegally posting his music but maybe a better solution is that he hire a videographer and post them himself to a website that he charges a fee (I know, I know) to become a member. That probably won’t stop it in full but that’s a better way to monitor everything.

What do you think about this lawsuit? Is Prince alienating an entire generation of would be fans by trying so hard to shut people down who post his music?

Enjoy!

The World Is Flat, Book Review

Here we are, we are a tenth into the 21st century.  Well, I am.  Are you?  Have you got a Facebook page?  Do you have a LinkedIn page fully filled out?  What about Google+ or Twitter?  How about doing presentations of your work on YouTube?  What about Blog.Tv?  How about a blog on Blogger or WordPress?  That run through is just personal related on the internet.  What about if you have a business?  Are you using Constant Contact?  What about Alexa?  But for your business do you: Have a Facebook page?  Do you have a LinkedIn page fully filled out?  What about Google+ or Twitter?  How about are you doing presentations of your work on YouTube?  What about Blog.Tv?  How about a blog on Blogger or WordPress?

The course of the 21st Century means that the world is no longer your neighborhood or even the city you're in, but the world.  How so?  Using the above access points, my expansion of The Kyle Phoenix show, blogs, podcasts, videos has gone to about 6 to 8 million people seeing it, being aware of it, knowing about me.  That's worldwide.  That's taken about 4 years to reach those totals.  But the skyrocketing of those numbers, an additional 2 to 5 million happened within the last year.  By reading books like The World Is Flat I literally learned how to take my work from the information highway to warp speed.

This book is an excellent tool in learning how and more importantly, where to expand a business or even where to look for work.  The skills needed in the 21st Century are more technology based than absolutely social or manufacturing.  What this book then challenges is what happens to those people on the entire planet who don't understand that.  Imagine a village in India or China or Africa that for all intents and purposes measured against American standards is in the early 1900's with an agrarian or manufacturing basis, low tech throughout the town, maybe cars, mostly animal---horse or cow pulled vehicles.  We would imagine that such a village would need at least a generation or two (a generation is generally about 35 years) to come to parity with say me, sitting here in NYC with computers and internet access and university minds around me to advance me to the point of getting in front of 6 to 8 million people a year.  But that same village, let's give it a good name, New Hope.

The village of New Hope with minimal investment---a generator, some cell phones, a laptop, a digital camera, electricity and someone who can read has suddenly been accelerated to the 21st century.  Historically what has made the 3rd World (a horribly imperialistic and incorrect contextual framer by supposedly "1st" world people, but we have to agree on some basic context).  New Hope can open an Ebay store and sell New Hope "love rocks" to the entire planet.  They can post videos of their cultural dances on YouTube, have their accounts monetized and receive cash checks for every click from all over the planet.  The same can be done for blogs and podcasts.  Villages, even individuals can now skip having to build a social infrastructure to occupying and profiting from globalization and immediately go into profit.  That's ow the internet has made the world flat.

What about as an individual worker?  The current statistics are that every year in America there are 34,000 students graduating with degrees in Engineering, in India there are 350,000 a year and in China, 650,000.  Now compare that back in to America's recession based worker woes.  Americans are not educating as fast as the rest of the world is and more damningly whereas foreigners used to come here to utilize their newly minted abilities the internet means they don't have to now.  Ever heard of Prepaid Legal?  You join, pay a monthly membership fee and legal work is farmed out to paralegals around the world to process and then an American lawyers stamps off on it for a small fee.  If you have a software issue on your PC or Mac or most of it's software or even your taxes---you might be re-routed through a call center in India (where they have training centers, full of college students and college graduates, who are being schooled in not simply the company's systems but in American dialects, idioms, communication skills).  The abilities, the capabilities of Americans have shifted from us being the arena to us being another player in the arena.

Thomas Friedman's book is an excellent understanding of how the world HAS changed and what you should be doing in your career or entrepreneurship ventures to enter the stream of reality that Earth has moved to.  Even simply for the marketing and production of The Kyle Phoenix Show materials, there are hits from Mauritius (!), South America, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Greece, France, India, China, Australia, the Caribbean, Syria, Egypt  Israel, Canada, and all of the United States.  I originally thought New York, sure and maybe it would blow up to the USA.  The World Is Flat is one of the books that's helped me to change my context and therefore content as I realize I am as present in the cyberverse as an individual as New Hopes and multi-national conglomerates.  Amazing!

Engagement Marketing by Gail F. Goodman, Book Review

The wonder of the internet is that we can not only communicate with the entire planet (this blog/podcast has subscribers in New York, France, South Africa and Russia!) but how do you actually transform this tool and it's ability into a business.  Or more personally, I've had to question how to continue contacting the viewers of my tv show , this blog, the podcasts, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter and the YouTube videos---it actually crosses.  Right now we're in beta testing for the E newsletter (feel free to sign up on kylephoenixsite.com) but how does one bring all of this off?  There are about a good dozen books and webinars that I've been using as my board for how to do this and Ms. Goodman's is not only a great one but I'm a fan of her service.

Ms. Goodman invented the Constant Contact web service which does mass mailing and social campaigns to  companies.  I even use it for the classes I teach in person and online to poll and get feedback from the students.  It is literally an amazing service that 8 years ago when I was managing a thriving Amazon and Ebay virtual store would've worked in nicely with marketing.  The key to marketing is not simply the initial contact, or the communication but maitaining that discussion/relationship.  In many ways the seminars/classes that I attended here in New York with Ms. Goodman's company taught me how to understand the internet.  If you're truly interested in understanding the internet and it's varied uses this is a fantastic book.  And just maybe you'll start talking to people like I do in Australia and Zimbabwe and Ireland and Germany and Brazil and Canada----amazing!  Simply amazing research and teaching tool!

Thank You,
Kyle Phoenix
