I loved my Bronco II. It was a long tangled war to get it from my mother as a sloppy seconds gift and then to get it registered and insured in my name but I did it! It was mine. But I had to pay for it and tuition and such undergrad so I became an RA—-$1300 rebate a semester. I TAed—-$1500 a semester. I worked for Public Safety patrolling the campus from 10pm to 2am—-$4.25 an hour.
And I ran the first rideshare Uber in Buffalo.
For $5 per person, you and your bags could get to the airport, the train and or bus station. The only caveat sometimes was timing. It was easier to do the 3–4 passengers to one hub at a time. But those days before Spring break, holidays and end of the semester, I was booked solid. I had a running calendar.
I suspect there are all types of insurance issues now but I saw that you can sign up with Uber and work out an Avis rent a car and do it that way. I’m not suggesting you put up signs for your own car around the dorms and pull together a schedule. That would be wrong. But you know….if you and Uber can’t work it out.
Trust, I know how to side hustle my side hustle while doing my side hustle. Occasionally I was the RA on Night duty, with a Public Safety vest and walkie-talkie and running a small group to the airport on my break—-triple action!
I loved my Bronco——I’m actually thinking about buying another one.
Smile, Kyle
