Kyle Phoenix Answers: Why are there so many more single male homeless people than single female homeless people?

I would submit that it's easier for young males to engage in same sex prostitution, several of my students for years hooked and did porn. It was a relatively stable income at up to $200 a trick because the same clientele become regulars and MSM tend to have more disposable income due to a lack of wives/children.
I often had to sit young men and have Prostitute 101 and Porn Actor 101 discussions. Due to stigma they were often willing to put themselves at greater risk to maintain clients than women would. It was an inversion of sexuality shame.
Coping with homelessness often fell into one of the inherent biases in poverty, women and children first. 80% of agencies service women and children first then the HIV positive, so several of my students intentionally got infected to receive HASA, the welfare lifetime benefits and housing in 30 days.
Society sees women as weaker sp it helps them faster, men are seen as weak or lazy if homeless. Its a social issue with women and a character, "pull yourself up, get a job like a real man" issue with males.
An addendum thought I had is basic mathematical biology means a woman and/or child represents more potentiality than a single male. Most homeless women are mothers so help to them uplifts children as well. An uplifted child has more chronological time to become a healthy functioning self sufficient adult..
The one contrarianism to this has been HIV which was speed rushed to the head of the line, particularly by celebrities so that it usurped other diseases and its vitality meant danger to all. For msm this has meant assistance if you're willing to be or already positive and submit to the state. Most msm in my programs/nonprofits shoved aside for the HIV positive so one had to become positive to get assistance, and most of the programming to non positives was about avoiding/becoming positive. It became a self fulfilling prophecy of you will become positive ----especially if you want any substantive attention and assistance....and antiviral meds made HIV look loveable. If you're young, family less and homeless an invisible disease that might not start affecting you for a distant 20 plus years seems like a willing trade off. Particularly to poor Black and Latinos who may also be undereducated; $30k a year is a blessing.
Its become a welfare pension at approximately $627,000 in cash, services for 27 years, HIV no longer as lethal within the five HASA cities.
If you're a woman with HIV and kids , forget it. You've hit dark lotto for life.
