Yes, there are some who choose to be straight. Sexuality isn't binary for everyone its along a continuum, similar to the Kinsey scale. There's a percentage of humans that fall into absolute opposite sex, same sex attraction. The rest of us move throughout the range and make varying choices throughout our lifetimes. Hence people who didn't know but change/move sexuality in life or have had experiences that are different than their known, inner self sexuality.
But yes, people do choose to express or what to conform to for all of the benefits and privileges from social heterosexuality.
The idea of straight is so binary because of our rigid social structures and structures. Over the next 20 years, from the past relaxing 20 years, fluidity will be more apparent and particularly newer generations will experiment more and leave space for lack of "straightness" as we move towards a more fluidic, polyamorous society.
