Does being a cop turn you racist or hateful? Answered by Kyle Phoenix

Does being a cop turn you racist or hateful?
Having worked in law enforcement and with poverty and under resourced communities what it generally does is:

1. Give you a deeper inculcating to at risk, criminal, skewed populations by income. As an officer you earn 30k plus to start plus benefits, making you middle class but those you patrol may not always be middle class.

2. The justice system is racially skewed as to criminal vs full person. So you see more Blacks and Latinos being criminals, especially if you are white.

3. You see more depraved behavior overall.

4. The combinations of what you see reinforces racial stereotypes that society inculcates through TV, government, etc..

5. You're getting it on a sustained basis and generally leave the neighborhood, retreating into higher class, less criminalized neighborhoods. So you go to "that" place with "those" people mainly for work, not getting chance for community socialization.

6. Paramilitary organizations have historically been used as racism enforcers so you're passively part of a force that is historically distrusted no matter the current individuals. Bias or neutrality comes at you and you're often not encouraged to completely integrate into the community you police.
All citizens in America get Racist Infection Virus. Every day. Law enforcement get it intensified daily, hourly and must return for their pay checks, and see and get the worst strains of RIV injected into their social perception.
